26 marijuana plants seized during house fire.

On January 8, 2020 the Marion Fire Department was dispatched at 11:09 a.m. to a structure fire at 1524 W. 2nd St.  Upon arrival, there was heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the residence.

Marion General EMS arrived on the scene for medical standby. But, no occupants were home a the time of the blaze.

 As fire marshal Myers was on the scene to conduct the fire investigation 26 marijuana plants were discovered to be growing in the upstairs of the residence.  The plants were seized and turned over to the Marion Police Department for evidence processing and destruction.  The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical.  All units cleared the scene at 12:57 p.m.  No injuries were reported.
