Autopsy Results, New Arrest in Marion Murder Case

On Tuesday, we brought you the story of Deandre Oliver, who was found dead in the 2000 block of S. Meridian Street in Marion. This morning, we received new information from the Marion Police Department.

In a press release put out Friday morning, MPD says the autopsy results have returned for Deandre Oliver. The cause of death was determined to be “Multiple Stab Wounds,” and they have now ruled Oliver’s death a homicide.

A “person of interest” in this case, Anderson Jackson (37), was arrested by police on Tuesday, February 25th, the day of the murder. Jackson was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon (Level 4 Felony). Police are also trying to get information from him about Oliver’s murder, but when Jackson was brought in, he was too intoxicated to give many details.

Another person of interest in this case is Cody R. Hickman, who was arrested on Thursday, February 27th, for a shooting that occurred in January in Jonesboro. Hickman is already facing two charges, Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery, but he is also being questioned about his involvement in the Oliver murder.

Anderson Jackson is being held at the Grant County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.

Cody Hickman is also being held at the Grant County Jail on $100,000 cash bond.
