Kobe Bryant, His Daughter, Seven Others Killed in Helicopter Crash

Shortly before 10 am this morning, a helicopter carrying Kobe Bryant and 8 other passengers crashed into a hillside in Calabasa, CA. According to The Los Angeles Times, the helicopter burst into flames upon impact. Foggy conditions were reported at the time of the crash, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Kobe will be missed greatly by NBA fans and sports enthusiasts around the world. He leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.

Local Mind over Matter basketball coach and youth organizer Lemar Pettiford says, “…this one hurt. RIH.”

According to TMZ, Kobe’s daughter Gianna Maria Onore was on board the helicopter, as well. The father-daughter duo were traveling to Thousand Oaks for basketball practice at the Mamba Academy.

During a press conference covered by WTHR-13, Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva says no information on the other victims will be released until their families have been notified.
