According to a press release from the Wells County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Vermilion (46) was arrested today, following an investigation into alleged sexual acts committed with an underage female.
Vermilion was a guidance counselor at Marion High School, but the arrest was made by the Wells County Sheriff’s Department. Both the Indiana State Police and the Marion Police Department assisted in the investigation. The investigation started late last week, after authorities learned that Vermilion was engaged in an inappropriate online relationship with an underage female.
The press release stated that Vermilion is now facing the following charges:
- 12 counts of Vicarious Sexual Gratification (Level 4 Felonies)
- 12 counts of Child Exploitation (Level 5 Felonies)
Following his arrest, Vermilion’s bond was set at $240,000.
Authorities have made clear that this was an isolated incident, involving only one minor, and it appears no other children were involved.
